the future is golden

Daily Notes, From the Editor

On International Women's Day, I am thinking of the women in my life and their brilliance and of the men in my life and their courage.

These are complicated times we are collectively navigating. I believe some of the most important and powerful voices right now are champions of the subtle, soft-spoken. What I mean is they are not shouting and they do not have publicists. They are listening, carefully, to one another.

Deeply.

Seemingly small conversations over a breakfast table before the work day begins, this is how the world will change.

The tremendous largess of sitting for a good long time with what we hear a loved one say before crafting our response; and the generosity of allowing our response to come in the form of a question. Curiosity. More space for understanding.

We have so much to learn from one another, don't you agree? The future is female, yes. It is also male. In this way, it will be golden.

Onward we go, brave hearts.
